Hatches

I used Weaver throughout. None have been any problems. There is a total of 9 hatches on the deck and cabin top, plus 2 escape hatches mounted in the chamfer panel. As well as the deck hatches I have 6 non opening oval portholes, 3 in either hull (really worth putting in) and 2 opening hatches in rear cabins that open out onto the cockpit. Make sure you put plenty of Sika under the hatches, couple of mine leaked the first time it rained.

Winches and Other gear

I used Anderson 52STs for the primarys with a 44ST for the mainsheet and a 28ST for the mainsheet traveller. Sometimes I think an additional pair of 48s mounted nearby the main primarys would be useful for the spinaker, but so far I've got away with the need for these. Mounting of the deck gear is worth a mention. I had thoughts of bonding in stainless inserts, that I would have had to get manufactured anyway, but in the end decided the strongest thing to do was to bolt right through the deck. I removed the deck core (with a router) about 100mm larger all round from the fitting and replaced the removed core with solid oregon, we then glassed over the timber with 2 layers of 400gm biax. Every deck fitting was attached this way. Bolts broke through into the ceiling cavity and we covered these holes, with thin ply covers painted the same colour as the inside. You can see evidence of this in some of the images.

Other deck gear was Frederiksen, Harkin or Ronstan. Clutches are Easylock Maxi.
