Where to Start - How to Start

You will have been planning and scheming for months if not years. But they comes a time when you just need to get going with things, spend some money and make a real commitment to "Go for it". Its always easy to find excuses for not doing something, and I believe its true that in years to come you will have more regrets about the things you never did than the things you did

I had been planning for about 2 years - true I had other things to do, renovate the house, work on the car, work on the lads cars etc, but in the end set a date in my mind - well I actually missed that but set it and ordered the materials. Your planning does need to be complete - to a certain extent.

Other things worth a thought

Hit the ground running. Get your project off to a good start, take some vacation, get some friends to help, send the wife overseas, prepare for a few 12 hour days etc. Try to have everything at hand, don't run out of essential things, things like glue, resin, screws, buckets etc. Nothing needs to stand in the way of progress. Don't think about failure. Constructive comments and critisisum are always welcome, but not statements like we can't do this because, this will never work etc. Just do it - if you don't you will regret it - forever.

Stand back at the end of every day and take stock on what you have achieved. I really am an optimist and because of that always expect to get more done that it possible in a given time, its just the way I am built and can't change it, and don't want to either. To countact this I focus on what we have managed to achieve, not what we hoped to do. Last thing but the Most Important of all have FUN.
